LEAF DAYS

I was born on a cool monsoon day,
I broke out of the twig so young,
All other leaves admired at me,
I started growing with the sunlight,
I enjoyed the seasons as they rolled,
I served the best possible at all times,
Frost would come paint me with care.
The three squirrels run over tickling me,
The butterflies buzz around pleasing me,
I heard other leaves whisper its autumn,
The cool autumn winds turned warm nights cold,
I felt strange as I was turning pale and yellow,
Then I was hanging to the twig almost dead,
I said I wanted to be with you forever and ever,
Then I gently fell down to earth heaving with pain.
I miss those days, the squirrels and butterflies!
I have heard of tears but I never got them,
Who looks at me, who bothers about me,
Just born to serve and end up unknowlingly.
