About Taj
Taj Mahal Palace (1903) and tower hotel is a symbol of national pride for India. Red domed structure sits opposite to Gateway of India on the edge of Arabian Sea. The Taj has 565 rooms including 46 suites it’s decorated in Moorish oriental and Florentine style. Double room would cost $365-425$.
On 26/11 terror swam across the Arabian Sea. Architectural pigeons so far over head in their flutter from roost to roost they were faintly visible after terror washed over Taj. The devilish planning devastated the iconic, historic Taj. Blood engulfed over the charred rooms echoed by gun shots. The Taj Mahal Palace stood helpless like a chimney emitting grey terror smoke. Terror incapacitated city watched the longest horror show on the television screens, civilians locked behind doors where all the directions seemed to be dangerous. It’s almost as if in the space of 72 bloody hours an entire cosmos of memories has been shaken, perhaps irretrievably. Mumbai without Taj is a bit like a Queen without the crown, the Taj is not only about the rich and famous it’s a symbol of Mumbai’s debonair, multi-ethnic identity but reflecting the graciousness that is so precious to the city.
Men like Angels air-dropped from the NSG plunged into battle hunting the bloody rats sneaked inside there was no escaping the reality these bravados marched into the dark smoke filled corridors breathing life and death ready for the mortal combat defending the malevolent vandals under the roof of malice. Their sacrifice was an emblem of undying patriotism. The cold-blooded masterminds entertain themselves in the macabre dance of death washed over the entire city from the ghettos to the under belly of the city. The gunfight with AK-47 craft mayhem killing innocent lives both men and woman including children paralyzed the citizens with fear.
Only few Samaritans who never feared jeopardy gave up their spirits evacuating lives those surviving inside, the conurbation was left like an infant sandwiched between herds of treacherous wolves. The lack of security and poor vigils over the coastal portal includes callous politicians; bumbling bureaucrats and an emasculated police force have failed simply incapable of taking on trained and highly motivated terrorists.
The Arabian Sea looked helpless at the Iconic Jewel Taj under the gorgeous plumes of fire who knew each other from more than ten decades. The soft grey colored peace advocates fluttered away remarking the peace lost in the city. The iconic building was turned into a workshop for ammunition overseas lives left under the debris of broken windows, erupted showers of cement bricks and shattered glass.
The worst terror smoke ever Indian skies would have seen, even the sea might have wept for carrying the terros, pigeons might have prayed for the city. Where politicians still blame each other who bought terror paying the lives of citizens. As a citizen you are one but as citizens we are a nation let us stand up together and fight for peace against the terrific terrorists on our terrain.
